HEART HEALTHY FOODS

"I firmly believe that if the whole materia medica (pharmacology)

could be sunk to the bottom of the sea, it would be all the better for mankind

and all the worse for the fishes." Oliver Wendell Holmes

Important: Before going for diet rich in saturated fats contact holistic therapist or nutritionist and make all of necessary tests to make sure that this diet is safe for you and make sure that you don't have any cardiovascular problems.

Adaptation to saturated fat rich diet (it maybe 20 grams or more than 100 grams of SFA [saturated fatty acids] per day) should be gradual and should be stretched from eight to sixteen weeks at least!

The reason for that is very simple; rich saturated fat diet may "thicken" your blood. If your arteries are already attacked by disease it can be risky without professional help.

That is why adaptation must be made slowly and step by step with proper supervision.

This is regarding especially older and ill people. If you are young or older but you are healthy (You think that you are healthy) then it will be enough to undergo basic tests but like always, no one knows your organisms better than you do so the decision is yours.

Tests are not so expensive and everyone can afford it. Diet is not a joke. It is powerful tool in good hands but can be useless or even dangerous in unprofessional.

Keep this in mind please. Two things are clear here:

heart healthy foods is what your body need, and

Doctors and especially (GPs - general practitioners) are not trained to use NUTRITION as a CURE for Diseases. (Mainly they are trained to use DRUGS as a kind of "cure")

They are not trained to use DIET as a Cure for Diseases also. Keep in mind that DIET mean LIFESTYLE.

NUTRITION and LIFESTYLE are NOT main parts of conventional medical studies.

Because of these facts you may have trouble in finding experienced and well educated doctor with good knowledge of nutrition as a cure for diseases.

Make good investigation before you will choose one. Use internet.

heart healthy foods
Heart healthy foods are essential for our good health. Every day you should give your heart proper amount of nutrients like coenzyme Q-10, fatty acids Omega-3, Saturated and Monounsaturated fatty acids and many minerals and vitamins.

"Heart healthy foods are the only one natural and effective way to keep your heart healthy."

Do you really believe that drugs are able to cure health related problems like coronary heart disease and others?

If your answer is yes then keep reading.

How can some manmade drug fix sick heart or artery in only few months if process of destruction lasted for years?

Of course this is impossible.

Drugs are not miracle pills, they may help in some cases but heart healthy foods should be first.

I don't know why majority of doctors still believe in drugs but don't want to believe in natural foods which are in fact the best cures for heart related problems.

Heart is like any other organ in our body that must be kept healthy and the best way to do that is to supply it with all the necessary nutrients.

Before you will decide to take prescribed drugs you must take care about your diet first.

Heart healthy foods are foods which are not only healthy for your heart but for whole your body. So if you think that there are some special heart healthy foods you are wrong because what is good for your stomach will be good for your heart as well.

Omega-3 fatty acids are beneficial heart healthy food nutrients but they are good for whole your organism as well.

Besides, condition of heart is strictly linked to condition of other organs.

For example sick liver can (and probably will later or sooner) cause many heart related problems or skin problems. This is scientifically proven fact.

"Organ from picture above keep you alive so take good care about it. You can live without hand or leg, you can even live without some of internal organs but you can't live without hart."

You have to know that there is no one or few causes of heart diseases.

Bad condition of heart is caused by hundreds of factors and majority of them are not exactly known yet.

Smoking of cigarettes, excessive consumption of alcohol and carbohydrates, especially sweets and lack of physical activity and proper rest are only few of factors but they are not the most important ones.

The most deadly factor is lack of healthy diet (Diet mean Lifestyle!). Heart healthy diet should be loaded with heart healthy foods.

Even if you are smoking cigarettes and drinking lots of alcohols but have healthy diet based on healthy foods, you will be in better shape than someone who is abstinent but has unhealthy diet!

This is just hypothetical situation of course because majority of people who really care about their health don't over drink alcohol and don't smoke tons of cigarettes.

But if you do smoking then heart healthy foods will surely lower risk of developing one of modern killer diseases.

Anyway if you want your heart to be healthy you have to get heart healthy foods or saying in general you need NATURAL foods. How do you do that?

It is very simple and uncomplicated. First of all you should take a look at healthy foods list section which will give you all necessary information about healthy and natural foods.

Secondly you need to start some kind of physical activity (if you have done exercising already that is great).

You need good amount of rest as well. If you are working too much then cut your hours, no excuses at this point.

And of course you need good source of professional knowledge.

That is why now I will show you how hard it can be to find reliable information about heart healthy foods if you are ordinary person who is not nutrition professional on enthusiast.

Truth about Heart Healthy Foods

I am going to show you the truth about heart healthy foods on an article example.

Article is from WebMD internet service, one of the biggest and most popular internet web sites about human health. I even like this website because they have lots of good information but they have lots of poor info as well.

The worst thing is that this misleading information can be dangerous for our health.

Normal internet user who is looking for reliable information about heart healthy foods probably doesn't have enough knowledge to choose only good pieces of information from hundreds of internet websites around.

He will probably just take "everything as it is" without questioning. That is why information provided to him must be of highest value.

heart healthy food list
Your heart will serve you 115 years if you don't break it before.

It's time to show you parts of the article. Article is from WebMD web service and is about Heart healthy Foods entitled "25 Top Heart-Healthy Foods".

WebMD wrote it down together with the help of nutrition experts from The Cleveland Clinic and the American Dietetic Association.

They wrote:

"we've put together a list of the "best of the best" heart-healthy foods".

Ok, so now we are going to check what they have to say about heart healthy foods.

Salmon is first on the list of course. They wrote:

"Omega-3 fatty acids. Grill salmon with a yummy rub or marinade. Save a chunk to chop for a pasta or salad later on."

If they are specialists tehy should know that: "Grilled salmon with a yummy rub or marinade" has no Omega-3 at all. Do you want to know why? Of course you do.

Here is the answer; high heat and light will completely destroy omega-3 fatty acids.

That is why good quality Omega-3 oils are packed into dark glass bottles or boxes and stored in refrigerators or in cool places!

If you want to take some health benefits from fatty fish like salmon then eat it raw as a sushi for example and / or take omega-3 supplements.

I know that what I just said may sounds cruel to you but this is true and you should know about it.

Heart healthy foods are raw or slightly or gentely cooked. They never should be overcooked or overheated.

Correct supplementation is necessary even if you eat everything raw and organic. Nutritional value of modern foods are worse than those from 10000 BC.

Our air and water are polluted and soil is short in minerals. At this moment for most of us there is no way to get high value nutritional foods in our present world.

That is why correct supplementation is necessary, heart healthy foods alone may be not enough these days. If you can buy only organic and grass fed meat, eggs atc.

I know that many will say that supplements are not natural sources of nutrients and should be avoided but this is not true.

Good quality supplements are perfect sources of nutrients and vital part of diet for people living in XXI century. As long as your modern world looks like today

(cars, long hours of work, polluted air, water and soil, stress, lack of time for relaxation) you have to use supplements to fill up your growing for nutrients needs.

Under very hard conditions (these days world for example...) your body is utilizing essential vitamins, minerals, fats and proteins very fast so you have to top them up regularly.

One day loaded with more stress (modern unhealthy stress) than usualy can wipe out even your weekly supply of some of vitamins and minerals.

This is a deadly process for your whole body, including your heart. I hope that you can see the big picture.

Flaxseed (ground) is next on the list. They wrote:

"Omega-3 fatty acids; fiber, phytoestrogens. Ground flaxseed hides easily in all sorts of foods -- yogurt parfaits, morning cereal, homemade muffins, or cookies."

In my view this is very dangerous guideline!

Flaxseed omega-3 is highly reactive and exposure to the light or heat will form very dangerous chemical molecules. Those molecules are very toxic to your body.

They are so reactive that are able to easily kill even cancer cells (but this is different story. Read about Budwig Anti Cancer Protocol).

If you are going to eat muffin or cookie with flaxseed, then be prepared for big damage to your organism. Don't expose ground flaxseeds to the light or heat because if you do this then the only thing you can do with it is to put it into rubbish bag.

Oatmeal was next. They wrote:

"Omega-3 fatty acids; magnesium; potassium; folate; niacin; calcium; soluble fiber. Top hot oatmeal with fresh berries. Oatmeal-and-raisin cookies are a hearty treat."

Very poor source of omega-3 fatty acids and like salmon and flaxseed exposed to the light or heat will turn into unhealthy chemicals.

If you need vitamins and minerals eat green vegetables, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, fish oil, nuts and meat organs like liver, heart or kidneys.

About Black or Kidney Beans they wrote:

"B-complex vitamins; niacin; folate; magnesium; omega-3 fatty acids; calcium; soluble fiber. Give soup or salad a nutrient boost -- stir in some beans."

Completely unreasonable guideline because beans are only healthy if they are prepared in Japanese style way which means they have to be fermented!

Otherwise beans are not very well absorbed by your body. Any vegetables which need to be cooked long time before consumption are in fact poor heart healthy foods.

About Almonds they wrote:

"Plant omega-3 fatty acids; vitamin E; magnesium; fiber; heart-favorable mono- and polyunsaturated fats; phytosterols. Mix a few almonds (and berries) into low-fat yogurt, trail mix, or fruit salads."

I agree in 99% with this. Why only 99% and not 100%? Because you should use fatty yogurt or even better kefir! Kefir contains very healthy friendly bacteria (healthier than yogurt's bacteria).

If you like yogurt, eat it only when it's natural and full fat. "Light" yogurt is a manmade invention and has nothing to do with nature and health.

About Walnuts:

"Plant omega-3 fatty acids; vitamin E; magnesium; folate; fiber; heart-favorable mono- and polyunsaturated fats; phytosterols. Walnuts add flavorful crunch to salads, pastas, cookies, muffins, even pancakes."

Eat them raw because only then you will keep all of nutrients in place. Don't eat those funny manmade inventions like muffins, cookies and others especially if you have health related problems.

Nuts are heart healthy foods and as long as they are raw they are good source of fat, carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins and proteins.

If you like sweets then you can eat some fresh fruit's dessert with nuts and cream once or twice a week. If you have to eat cookies eat only those with low sugar amount and with seeds; for example sunflower or pumpkin seeds.

Red wine:

"Toast your good health! A glass of red wine could improve "good" HDL cholesterol."

Basically this is true but you can drink even two or three glasses if you like. Wine can be only a small part of your healthy diet so there will be no amazing results if your diet is based on manmade foods instead of natural healthy foods.

You have to eat properly to get good health results. Wine especially dry red wine is a good source of heart healthy resveratrol. Heart healthy food with heart healthy red wine is good recipe for long and disease-free life.

Tuna:

"Omega-3 fatty acids; folate; niacin. Here's lunch: Salad greens, fresh fruit, canned tuna. Keep "Salad Spritzer" a light dressing in your office fridge."

Hmn, I think that the author of this article wrote it down while eating lunch or having a tea break.

Canned tuna is the biggest crap you can buy!

I know that it is cheap but there are many healthier foods for this price. Process of canning is the worst possible method of food conservation. Canned tuna is loaded with very toxic mercury what makes it not very healthy for your heart.

So be careful with this food. It's much better to buy fresh piece of tuna and cook it on low heat with addition of water with herbs.

About Tofu:

"Niacin; folate; calcium; magnesium; potassium. Tasty tofu is easy: Thinly slice "firm" tofu, marinate several hours, grill or stir-fry."

Everything is ok but don't grill and don't stir-fry it if you want it to be healthy (tofu is made from soy milk). Original tofu can be heart healthy if fermented. Don't kill it with high temperature.

Fermented tofu is the only tofu which can be called healthy because process of fermentation is killing all of toxic soy chemicals and enzymes inhibitors.

WemMD about Brown rice:

"B-complex vitamins; fiber; niacin; magnesium, fiber. Microwavable brown rice makes a quick lunch. Stir in a few chopped veggies (broccoli, carrots, spinach)."

Rice may be ok but if you want to lose weight or get rid of health related problems then eat it only once or twice a week. Try to buy wild rice because it is much healthier than normal white or brown one.

About Soy milk:

"Isoflavones (a flavonoid); B-complex vitamins; niacin; folate, calcium; magnesium; potassium; phytoestrogens. Soy milk is great over oatmeal or whole-grain cereal. Or, make a smoothie with soy milk."

Soy milk and other soy products are highly unnatural so don't touch it. Soy can cause cancer, obesity and mental problems; it was developed only to cover need for protein rich product for vegetarian market.

The only healthy soy products that you can safely eat are fermented products (fermented tofu for example).

Blueberries:

"Beta-carotene and lutein (carotenoids); anthocyanin (a flavonoid); ellagic acid (a polyphenol); vitamin C; folate; calcium, magnesium; potassium; fiber. Cranberries, strawberries, raspberries are potent, too - for trail mixes, muffins, salads!"

Again those muffins! (muffin is not on a heart healthy foods list, never was and never will be!)

Berry fruits are very healthy and you should eat lots of them if you can. Remember that berry fruits are seasonal foods so eat them when it's good time for that.

If you live in Germany for example then eat berries only when it's season for it. Naturally, winter means no berry fruits at all so don't try to trick Mother Nature and wait for berries until next summer (or use dried berries).

About Carrots:

"Alpha-carotene (a carotenoid); fiber. Baby carrots are sweet for lunch. Sneak shredded carrots into spaghetti sauce or muffin batter."

Carrots are ok. If you want to cook them do it gently and use low heat. Eat them with lots of real butter and some sea salt.

Spinach:

"Lutein (a carotenoid); B-complex vitamins; folate; magnesium; potassium; calcium; fiber. Pick spinach (not lettuce) for nutrient-packed salads and sandwiches."

Spinach is a very good and heart healthy food and it is best eaten when raw. It is good practice to add lemon juice to fresh spinach.

Lemon juice will make it more digestible. Don't forget about some kind of fat when you eat greens. Vitamins A, D, E and K are fat soluble so for proper ingestion they need fat.

WebMD about Broccoli:

"Beta-carotene (a carotenoid); Vitamins C and E; potassium; folate; calcium; fiber. Chop fresh broccoli into store-bought soup. For a veggie dip, try hummus (chickpeas)."

Broccolis are heart healthy foods as well but don't overcook them to keep all of beneficial nutrients on place.

Sweet potato:

"Beta-carotene (a carotenoid); vitamins A, C, E; fiber. Microwave in a zip-lock baggie for lunch. Eat au naturale, or with pineapple bits."

The biggest mistake you can do is to eat those foods. They are poor in nutrients and can easily make you fat. So better you will do if you take some kind of wild rice because it is much more natural. Heart healthy food must be as wild as possible.

Try to avoid all of manmade foods.

Red bell peppers:

"Beta-carotene and lutein (carotenoids); B-complex vitamins; folate; potassium; fiber. Rub with olive oil, and grill or oven-roast until tender. Delicious in wraps, salads, sandwiches."

They are very tasty and healthy but you can eat them raw as well and in fact you should. Process of cooking is killing more than half of nutritional value of these healthy foods so try to avoid this practice as much as possible.

Asparagus:

"Beta-carotene and lutein (carotenoids); B-complex vitamins; folate; fiber. Grill or steam slightly, then dress with olive oil and lemon. It's a pretty side dish."

You have to cook them before you can eat so do it but not too long and leave them a little bit firm.

That was just a part of WebMD article to show you how misleading popular information can be. For someone who has heart related problems healthy diet based on healthy foods is a key to success!

There is no place for mistakes and all of information must be 100% correct. Drugs will not make one healthy if his diet is wrong.

"So How Heart Healthy Diet Should Really Look? "

First of all it must be diet based only on natural and healthy foods. It must provide you with all of necessary nutrients and it must give you these nutrients in the most possible safe way.

Salmon is a good choice but there is no big deference between cooked salmon and cooked beef stew. As I said before cooking is destroying Omega-3 fatty acids.

So there are two options, eating raw salmon or cooking it and proper omega-3 supplementation. Both ways are ok but in my view the best is mix of these two.

When you have mood for cooked salmon then eat it cooked and take supplements. If you want it raw than eat sushi and take supplements as well; very simple.

heart healthy salmon
Omega-3 fatty acids will not survive heat and light. You have to eat salmon unheated to get all of healthy benefits.

For people with heart related problems Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for good health. They are part of healthy diet and you should supplement it. Even if you are healthy at this moment you have to supplement Omega-3.

These days foods are really poor in nutrients. Your life is overloaded with stress which in fact is one of major causes of cardiovascular problems.

So eat salmon and use omega-3 supplements to make your heart and whole body strong and healthy. You can eat any kind of fish but remember that lots of sea foods are polluted.

Your diet should not be directed into only one path; you have to diversify.

You should eat fish, red meat (yes red meat is a heart healthy food), poultry, berry fruits, game meat, lots of eggs and good and healthy fats like butter, olive oil, beef suet and coconut oil.

Now take a look at red meats, fats and eggs. All of these foods are heart healthy foods. Yes you read me very well, red meat and saturated fat is heart beneficial food!

There is no better and healthier source of proteins and fat than good piece of beef or lamb. Cholesterol is a very important part of your body and your heart and the rest of your organs need it to stay healthy.

Eggs are perfect source of minerals, vitamins and proteins. They contain lots of cholesterol but this is no problem at all because cholesterol is beneficial.

Do you know what real problem is?

That problem is called carbohydrates. We humans are not designed to eat carbohydrates as a source of energy.

Our great grandparents ate lots of butter (more than half of it is a pure saturated fat), they ate fatty meats, eggs and fats as well and they were healthier than we are.

It is scientifically proven that cholesterol molecule found in blocked arteries is formed from part of carbohydrates which you digesting every day. It is not cholesterol from eggs or red meat!

Our ancestors had more natural food and probably less of it. Today we have everything in shops and that is why we overeat to death.

Anyway lets comeback to heart healthy foods. I think that a very good idea is to add some goose fat to your diet.

Just look at French people; they eat lots of goose fat rich in saturated fatty acids, smoke lots of cigarettes, and party frequently but they are healthier than the rest of Europeans and Americans.

Cholesterol and saturated fats are necessary for hormones and coenzymes production and since coenzyme Q-10 is extremely important for heart cells you need good amount of these two unpopular foods.

Vitamins A, D and K are found especially in animal fats. Those three vitamins are so important for integrity of your body that lack of only one of them will lead you to serious trouble.

Remember to cut down carbohydrates you eat and increase amount of fats and cholesterol rich products.

If you don't believe me just go back to WebMD article with my comments on it.

You can go to healthy foods history section as well. You will find there lots of interesting facts.

diet food healthy heart
On picture you can see example of heart healthy breakfast. High in protein and rich in fats foods and only few carbohydrates on your plate will give you lots of healthy energy.

There is no magic or secret in French diet. They simply eat more saturated fat than the rest of the world. Same thing goes with Japanese people.

Scientific facts are very clear in this case. Read Malcolm Kendrick's book "Great Cholesterol Con" to get Tones of scientific data on this subject. You can get this book here).

More info you will find in healthy diet section.

Next heart healthy foods are berry fruits. They are beneficial and essential in diet of everyone who wants to keep good health or who wants to get back good health.

Berries are loaded with vitamin C, bioflavonoid and other chemicals which have strong anti inflammatory properties.

This is very important information for us because inflammation is a necessary factor for disease development.

Disease of arteries or heart or even cancer needs inflammation to keep growing. These are basics of your physiology. So if you want to be healthy eat lots of berries.

If you already have some heart problems then you can eat berries all year round, even those from close manmade farms. Berries are very tasty and healthy for heart. One more thing, try not to cook them, eat them raw.

What about vegetables? which of them can you call heart healthy foods? In my view especially green vegetables deserved to be on heart healthy foods list.

They are full of nutrients, they are tasty and very beneficial for proper digestion. It is proved that green vegetables has protective properties against vascular and heart related problems.

There is an amino acid called Homocysteine which when too much in organisms is linked to cardiovascular problems.

Diets poor in green vegetables and too rich in carbohydrates are probably responsible for high levels of Homocysteine.

Homocysteine is sign of serious cardiovascular problems. Make sure that you eat superior portion of green vegetables every day. It is good and safe practice. Greens are 100% heart healthy foods. To make sure that you are in good shape ask holistic therapist for Homocysteine test.

good food for healthy heart
Water is one of these Heart Healthy foods which are regularly forgotten by many of us but they are essential for our bodies.

Next on our heart healthy foods list is water. Water is not a food in popular meaning but it is still one of the two most important for human nutrients.

Meat and water are those two important nutrients.

Anyway coming back to water, you should drink lots of it especially if your health isn't the best. With no water there is no life. You need water for your metabolism to work properly.

Many people can't lose weight because of permanent dehydration.

Heart and vessels are especially sensitive to lack of water in organisms. Dehydration can cause high blood pressure which is very dangerous for every you.

If you are exercising regularly and more than six hours per week you should drink more than eight glasses of water a day.

Just remember about water especially when you are thinking about something to eat. Most of the times you are not hungry, you are just simply thirsty.

All of heart healthy foods are listed in healthy foods section so you can check lists of healthy and natural foods which are beneficial for your heart and for sure are safe for you and your family.

If you like to cook (and you should because only then you know what you really eat) go for interesting recipes to heart healthy recipes section where you will find guidelines and new ideas for preparation of heart healthy foods.

At last I would like to say one more thing about drugs.

Of course you can use prescribed drugs but you have to take care about your diet first.

I'm not a fun of drugs at all but sometimes in some cases drugs are necessary to save life but those are rare cases.

I know about people who become healthy after changing their eating habits and after proper supplementation of vitamin C, Omega-3, coenzyme Q-10 and heavy Metabolic Enzymes.

I think that everyone can improve his health and everyone, including you has right to honest and reliable information especially about health and well being.

There are many people who don't want you to know the truth because they use it to make huge amounts of money.

Health is a big business these days so any good and valuable information is hidden very deep in not many heads who know what is going on here.

I'm not saying that I know everything but I know enough to give you trustworthy and frank information about healthy foods and healthy diet.

Diet and supplementation is more important than drugs.

Remember this and everything will be ok.

Keep your diet simple and natural and enjoy amazing health and good looking body.

To Be Vegetarian, or Not to Be?

This is one of hottest questions these days. Vegetarianisms is now very popular, many people strongly believe that this is good way to go. But vegetarianism is not encoded in our genes and we will never achieve optimal health and life span if our prime food will come only from plant world.

There is no point to stop eating of meats and animal fats. Of course we should eat only free range and organic meats if possible (better mineral and vitamin content). Red meat, game meat, poultry and fish and any other animal products are rich in minerals, vitamins, coenzymes and proteins. If you want to be healthy and live long and happy life meat should be on your plate at least two times a week.

Of course there are some vegetarians in good shape but nothing is better than red meat proteins, coenzymes and minerals. Weston Price while travelling around the world noticed that in areas where meat was quite easily available people were much healthier, bigger and stronger than in other more veggie areas. That is fact from real life, not from laboratory.

Healthy Meat

Our human evolution started about 7 million years ago and through all these years we were omnivores, plant and meat eaters. In general we can say that our main food was meat (fatty and lean), fish, many greens and roots, some ripe and sour fruits (not those sweet modern fruits loaded with sugars) and insects. Seven million years of meat eating is very long time, we evolved on meat and fats!

Healthy meat is the best source of high quality proteins

"The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition."
