Probably majority of people is counting calories to lose weight. But is it right to do that?

I don't think so. Calorie counting is very unnatural and unhealthy way to get rid of that nasty fat.

Besides in the longer period of time it is so boring that you have to really like it to keep doing that, otherwise after few weeks you are out of your new diet.

These are facts and many people who tried calories counting will tell you that it is nonsense.

Of course you will find also many who prefer this way of eating and they are happy with it but system doesn't work properly for most of us. Counting calories for weight loss can be effective in some period of time, usually in short time.

Every day our requirement for calories is different and that is why we need different amount of foods.

We are simply unable to recognize and describe daily calorie requirement. All of those calorie calculators and other magic calorie counting tools are in fact useless.

You may need kitchen scale but only on the beginning of your new diet journey. If you want to know what is inside of your foods take scale and play with your foods. Information about particular nutrients you may find on labels. Optionally you may go to Google and get all necessary information.


Everyone is different and have different metabolism which can be slow or fast. Everyone has different physical and mental activity during the day and even at night.

To make things even worst every one of us has different sense of taste.

So in an environment like this we can't describe calorie demand without specialised tools and tests.

So what can we do? My answer is very simple...don't count calories. Don't even try to do that because you are just wasting your time.

Instead try to determine how much of foods you need by your sense of taste and satiety. To do that properly you need to eat your meals slow and in pace. Your organisms will tell you exactly what and how much of it he really need.

No one can recognize your needs better than your body!

Counting calories and eating healthy are two very different things. Eating healthy foods usually mean that you don't need to count calories at all. Why is it like this? Because healthy foods can't make you fat.

You need to know few rules regarding good and healthy nutrition as well but if you follow natural way of living you will be ok.

What does natural way of living means? You eat when you are hungry; you eat only healthy foods; you sleep at night at least 7 hours and you have every day's portion of physical activity.

Of course sun is also very important and if it is possible you should spend some time outside to make extra amount of vitamin D (vitamin D is synthesized in our skin but only when we are exposed to the sun).

Counting calories to lose weight is bad idea. You will do much better when you will go for jogging or proper running. These activates will burn lots of calories and will regulate your metabolism. Do you want to lose excess of fat? If your answer is YES then go and do something with your body, burn those calories but don't count them, never!

If you will find any information about Counting Calorie Diet or Counting Calorie Guide run away in opposite direction. Don't be a slave of numbers. I know that many of you are convinced that calorie counting is the only one and good way to stay slim or to get lean body.

But do you really want do it this way?

Eating 5 to 7 meals per day will make you slaver of your diet. To add to this you have to count all of nutrients and calories as well.

For sure this is not for me.

Counting calories and carbohydrates is also very popular and especially on a low carbohydrate diets. Low carbohydrate diets are better than high carbohydrate but creators of these diets are missing the point.

Calorie counting is not a way to healthier life. I have to tell you one more important fact that is not very popular but is very logical and you will agree with me for sure. For example, someone can be very lean and muscular person but it doesn't mean that he is healthy.

Lean and fit doesn't mean healthy. People tend to forget about this small but very important fact.

Some guys or girls with a little bit rounded shape have much better physical condition and healthier than lean fitness models.

BMI which means Body Mass Index is a good way to measure composition of our bodies. We shouldn't have too much of body fat, 15 to 20 per cent is enough for male and female.

We know for sure that overweight can be sign of disease but there is a big difference between healthy overweight (big muscles) and unhealthy one (excess of fat). The most important is body composition, ratio between body fat and muscles.

Subject of body composition and BMI (body mass index) is too big for this section so I will tell you in short that in man fat should take no more than 10-15% of his body mass.

For woman it should be about 15-20%.

Counting of calories is not a good way to lose excess of body fat. You will do better when you start to learn about healthy foods and natural human diets. These are keys to success. When you eat only natural, healthy foods quantity of calories you consume is naturally limited to the lowest possible level.

Good and healthy fruits and vegetables have only few calories so there is no point to count them. On the other hand when you eat meat and fat you don't have to count calories because as soon as you feel filled up you will stop eating automatically anyway.

So like you can see there is no big science behind these "theories".

It is only basic knowledge which could be known to everyone but the problem is that majority of us don't know about this and think that nutrition must be very complicated thing loaded with calorie and carbohydrate counting, many meals per day and other silly things.

In reality there is nothing like this, the best guide is your taste, instinct and common sense. Remember about this and everything will be much easier than you think.

Your best counting calories guide is your instinct. You should eat as long as you need. Of course keep in mind rules of Natural Human Diet for at least three first months.Try to wake up your natural instinct. Those guys from picture above don't play in Counting Calories and you shouldn't as well.

To Be Vegetarian, or Not to Be?

This is one of hottest questions these days. Vegetarianisms is now very popular, many people strongly believe that this is good way to go. But vegetarianism is not encoded in our genes and we will never achieve optimal health and life span if our prime food will come only from plant world.

There is no point to stop eating of meats and animal fats. Of course we should eat only free range and organic meats if possible (better mineral and vitamin content). Red meat, game meat, poultry and fish and any other animal products are rich in minerals, vitamins, coenzymes and proteins. If you want to be healthy and live long and happy life meat should be on your plate at least two times a week.

Of course there are some vegetarians in good shape but nothing is better than red meat proteins, coenzymes and minerals. Weston Price while travelling around the world noticed that in areas where meat was quite easily available people were much healthier, bigger and stronger than in other more veggie areas. That is fact from real life, not from laboratory.


Healthy Meat

Our human evolution started about 7 million years ago and through all these years we were omnivores, plant and meat eaters. In general we can say that our main food was meat (fatty and lean), fish, many greens and roots, some ripe and sour fruits (not those sweet modern fruits loaded with sugars) and insects. Seven million years of meat eating is very long time, we evolved on meat and fats!
